Waste wood

Non reusable waste wood produces 100% green electricity, district heat and process steam.

Every year we use the over 150,000 tons of waste wood we process in our biomass energy plant to generate 100% renewable electricity. We receive the non-reusable waste wood (B-wood) in various forms: from old kitchen cabinets to demolition wood that is often too contaminated by paint, varnish or other treatments to be re-used. Because anything the wood processing industry did with this wood would pass-on the contamination, this wood comes to us. The contaminants in the wood are released into the flue gas which is cleaned before it is emitted to prevent the environment being polluted. Since 2018 this waste wood processing has supplied renewable electricity, district heating and process steam to the region.
